Situation

Big systems and heavy industries

Finning International Inc. sells, finances, and services Caterpillar and complementary equipment. It’s largest division, Finning Canada, supports mining, construction, oil & gas and other heavy industries across Western Canada.

Doppio Group has worked with Finning Canada’s Business Systems Administration team since 2016, supporting MEC and M3 grid applications. In 2020, we launched a support service utilizing Doppio’s Vancouver technical team to engage with Finning users in local time.

Challenge

So much to do and never enough time to get it done

For an enterprise IT persona, the need to work with consistent, dedicated resources is the fastest way to advance IT agenda in support of business objectives.

Action

Staffing for success with our consulting delivery model

Finning Canada is not your typical M3 customer. With a hugely capable IT and Business Applications Development team, they were able to create a bespoke ERP system to suit their business needs. As such, Doppio provided a custom approach to support

Modified code? No problem. To modify M3 code and deploy packages to production, deep technical talent as well as business process knowledge is required. We staffed a local team supported by offshore resources to handle a pipeline of development requests.

Result

Working with us,  you can do more

Let us handle the technical complexity so you can focus on enabling and automating business processes and maximizing technology investment. Internal IT resources serve the business and user community most effectively when focused on understanding user stories – not  IT issues and development backlogs

Fure looking

Continual service improvement

How does a managed services provider align best with business objectives? Through monthly stakeholder meetings and a real close look at customer satisfaction metrics.

What did we learn?

“Summary”

One of the key things we learned, was that MAK skills are closely related to XtendM3 capabilities. This is what our multi-tenant customers use for extensibility solution design and deployment. From a consulting staffing and skills development standpoint we aligned resources so that both segments of our managed services and professional services customers can benefit from a growing cross-trained resource pool.
